Leather advocate and designer Yusuf Osman, founder of YUSSICO. By ILM.
On March 13 at 3pm, Osman and leather content creator Tanner Leatherstein will present “Leather and the Evolving Business of Fashion” on the main stage in Hall 3G.
They will talk to the audience about why legacy brands, built on exclusivity, struggle on social media. The presenters will explain how this shift in social consciousness is leading a major change in the business of fashion with challenger brands increasing in popularity based on innovative designs, inclusivity and affordability, a possible turning point for the leather industry.
On March 14 at 10:30am, on the main stage in Hall 3G, Osman will join Katie Kutskill, President of Is It Leather?, to discuss “Who will shape the future vision for leather?”
In this talk, the presenters will ask how leather can step beyond its commodity status and embrace the responsibility it has to the consumer and call for the entire industry to unite, present a clear, consumer-facing message and remind the world why leather matters.
APLF Hong Kong will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 12-14, and will be preceded by the ILM Leather Supply Chain Symposium on March 11.
