Olympic Icons and Comebacks

Leather Naturally writes that With the Olympics now culminating, it seems only fitting to honour the performance achievements – people and product!

Iconic sports footwear and outfits have become a key part of the Olympic story. We spotlight some of the legends that have helped catapult designers into the limelight and help athletes win gold.

Straight off the track, who can forget Linford Christie’s eye-catching Puma contact lenses at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996?

And this year the Mongolian national team have triumphed with their traditional x modern twist on the Opening Ceremony outfit.

Superwoman Simone Biles’ jewel encrusted leotard has only helped visually elevate her incredible performances, and the newly released luminous yellow thick sole Nike Alphafly 3 is turning heads on the running track.

But we want to honour a leather legend from the past, making a comeback now.

The Nike Air Jordan 6 – back for the 2024 Olympics. This retro silhouette first launched in 2000 and then re-launched at the London Olympics 2012. Now it’s being hailed again by sneaker fans worldwide.

In Olympic uniform blue, white and red, the firm leather upper supports achilleas strength for rapid basketball pivots alongside super court and street style. Our verdict? We love this hero sneaker!
