The 37th IULTCS Congress, due to be held in China from October 17-20, 2023, has been called the “Olympic Games” of leather technology by the organisers, reports ILM.
The leather industry will gather in Chengdu in the Sichuan province to share the latest leather science and discuss future developments.
The Scientific Committee has announced the presenter of the Heidemann Lecture and confirmed 60 oral presentations for the congress.
They have also confirmed more than 300 participants from 15 countries and regions for the event, and previously announced that the congress will be in-person only.
IULTCS said: “During past years, due to the impact of multiple factors, the global leather market consumption has continued to be sluggish and the pressure on the industry has intensified. Scientific and technological innovation has become the fundamental way for the leather industry to break through.
“In this context, the 2023 IULTCS congress will play an important role in the development of science and technology, increasing confidence and accelerating recovery, revitalisation and high-quality development for the leather industry.”
