Students from Bezons, 15 kilometres from Paris, spent two days at leathergoods brand Hermès in mid-January seeing how the company’s artisans work and gaining insight into leathergoods savoir-faire, writes Leatherbiz.
Three people with leading roles in Hermès’s in-house training programmes, Giulia Madonna, Maya Cocheteux and Agnès Seba, hosted the high-school students.
Afterwards, Ms Madonna, said it had been a pleasure to meet the young people and try to pass on her passion for leather craftsmanship to them. She has been a leathergoods artisan for 13 years and, for the last four months, has been working to train new-generation artisans at the Hermès factory in Montereau.
