Luxury group LVMH returned to Shanghai in the early part of November to take part in the China International Import Expo, reports Leatherbiz.
China launched this large-scale showcase for companies seeking to export products to the country in 2018. It has taken place each year since, but many international groups withdrew or scaled down their presence at the event when covid-19 restrictions made travel to China difficult.
For LVMH, 2022 marked a return after pausing its participation for two years. Fourteen of its brands took part, including leathergoods brands Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Fendi.
The group said it wanted to build on a long relationship with China by allowing visitors to the China International Import Expo to “discover the emblematic expertise of the artisans who are the foundation of the group’s success”.
