Italian tannery group Gruppo Mastrotto is doubling its employee bonus pot to €1.5 million this year in recognition of workers’ commitment during the pandemic, reports Leatherbiz.
The bonus scheme, which was introduced in 2018, also acknowledges the higher cost of living, such as the increasing prices of gas, utilities, food and transport, said the group.
Group president Chiara Mastrotto said: “Doubling the bonus in this peculiar historical moment represents a concrete sign of recognition and support from the company towards our collaborators and their families.”
The group employs around 2,500 and operates 19 plants – 14 in Italy’s leather district Arzignano and one in Santa Croce sull’Arno; one plant in Brazil, one in Indonesia, one in Tunisia and one in Mexico.
