A day-long health camp was held last week for tannery workers at the Savar industrial estate, reports ILM.
Organised by the Tannery Workers Union with the support of the Solidarity Centre, the camp provided free medicine to more than 200 workers after consultations with doctors.
Tannery workers also received advice from specialists including dermatologists and health checkups for diabetes and blood pressure.
Speakers at the event said that the government should establish permanent healthcare facilities for the tannery workers and called for greater occupational health and safety awareness.
