On January 22nd, UNIC’s General Manager, Fulvia Bacchi, participated in the inauguration of the exhibition “Glove, Paths and Stories of gloves in Naples” at the Historical Archives of the Banco di Napoli – Fondazione Banco di Napoli. Open until February 21, it celebrates the Neapolitan glove-making school, telling its history and involving the current protagonists.

The exhibition presents ancient artifacts, processing tools, photographs and historical documents from the SSIP archive (Stazione Sperimentale per l’Industria delle Pelli e delle materie concianti ), which narrate the birth and development of the Glove School, from 1919 to 1952, in support of local craftsmanship.

Organized by SSIP with the support of UNIC – Concerie Italiane, Lineapelle, Regione Campania and the Banco di Napoli Foundation, it sees the contribution of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Mondragone Fashion Museum Foundation, the IsMed library of the CNR and professors from the departments of Historical and Chemical Sciences.

Partners in the project are the glove factories Gala Gloves SRL, Andreano, Artigiano del Guanto and Gargiulo Leather.
