PrimeAsia Leather, a Chinese tanning group, has announced the completion of its expansion project in Vietnam. The new facility will increase the group’s monthly production capacity to 8 million square feet per month, or approximately 740,000 square meters. Despite the negative economic situation, PrimeAsia is not only investing but also renovating one of its largest factories. By La Conceria.
A new building
As part of the expansion project, PrimeAsia Vietnam will be supported by the addition of a third retanning and coloring plant equipped with eight new fully automated production drums. All current area of the two segments, including teams, will be relocated to the newly constructed building. The new plant will also allow for equipment upgrades to support the growing demand for leather for sports brands, new drying and conditioning equipment with advanced technology, added equipment in the splitting, shaving and polishing areas and further implementation of solid waste management technologies.

The new plant will allow PrimeAsia to expand its market. As Leatherbiz reports, the capacity will increase to 740,000 square meters. “Our team has worked tirelessly to continue to be a global player in leather supply,” CEO Jonathan Clark emphasized on the sidelines of the inauguration event of the new plant.
