LUXURY - Expect the unexpected when new Montblanc CEO takes over

The chief executive of high-end footwear brand Stuart Weitzman, Giorgio Sarné, is to move to the Richemont group. He will take over as chief executive of the Montblanc brand on November 15. By Leatherbiz.

Mr Sarné has been chief executive of Stuart Weitzman, part of the Tapestry group, for the last four years.

Richemont’s chief executive of fashion and accessories brands, Philippe Fortunato, expressed confidence that Montblanc’s new business leader would continue the brand’s 118-year history of writing culture, leather craftsmanship and watchmaking “in fresh and unexpected ways”.

For his part, Mr Sarné said Montblanc was renowned for its excellence in craftsmanship and innovation and that he looked forward to “further nourishing” this.
