One fashion venture to put on your radar is Miu Miu “Upcycled” collections. Born in 2020, and devised to uphold the precious nature of vintage clothing and encourage circular design practice, Upcycled by Miu Miu is dedicated to breathing life into old designs and offcuts of fabrics, promoting sustainability – and a nod to the past life of clothing.
For 2024, Miu Miu has turned its attention to upcycled jeans and patchwork leather bags. The Upcycled Patch bag collection is made out of leather remnants from their previous designs, obviously this got our attention. This reminds us of their Fall/Winter 2022 launch of 50 limited edition Upcycled leather jackets. Each jacket was carefully sourced from vintage markets across the world, then re-worked (& re-fashioned) by Miu Miu and finished in the atelier by hand.
We’re so glad they returned to our favourite material with their most recent collection. We love the initiative behind the Upcycled collections and are excited to see what Miu Miu produce next.
