The Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) and the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) hosted a joint leather industry reception at the Jumeirah Himalayas hotel in Shanghai on August 30.
Around 100 guests from the U.S. and Chinese leather supply chains, alongside invited guests, attended an evening drinks and networking event following the second day of the ACLE.
Despite strained relations on a national political level, there was a genuine spirit of warmth and co-operation between the members of the two associations in the leather industry.
Chad Robertson, Joint-Chair of the LHCA, and Li Yuzhong, Chairman of the CLIA, both addressed the event and said that they were committed for further cooperation with mutual interests in the trade of raw materials, chemicals and finished leather and leather products.
