Judicial - Agfa files printing patent case against Gucci

Digital printing business Agfa has filed a case in the Unified Patent Court (UPC) against Kering-owned luxury brand Gucci, accusing the latter of using its leather printing method for its products, Writes ILM.

Agfa is suing multiple Gucci subsidiaries, including in Germany and Belgium, over the patent. The company says that Gucci has used its EP 3 388 490 patent, which involves a manufacturing method for embellishing natural leather with a decorative image.

The company has filed the suit at the Hamburg UPC, where the current presiding judge is Sabine Klepsch.

Agfa will be represented by the patent teams of Dutch law firm Brinkhof and German mixed law firm Vossius.
