Unleash your creativity and kickstart your career as a handbag designer
Design-A-Bag (DAB) is a unique design competition for designers and students. The finalists will be sponsored to attend the 2023 Special Edition of Fashion Access Dubai Fair, which is collocated with APLF – the most important international exhibition for the leather and fashion manufacturing industries. The Overall DAB Winner will be invited to attend a five-week bag design course in Milan, provided by the renowned Arsutoria School.
The submission deadline is 16 January 2023 (UTC+8 23:59).
Since 2007, DAB has brought together a global design community during the Fashion Access Fair in Hong Kong. Creative, innovative and sustainable designs are showcased to the international professional audience with design knowledge and concepts exchanged among talents from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

For 2023, the competition encourages designers to draw inspiration from classic fashion indicators to explore iconic bag designs for the future.
For the last two years, people around the globe have been experiencing numerous constraints and adopting technology to maintain connections with each other. The future will be different, it is time to disrupt the rules that had led us in the last two years to create something bold and timeless.

2022 Overall winner
The Design-A-Bag Competition 2022 successfully concluded during APLF Dubai 2022. The winner, Mr Neil Bryan Capistrano from the Philippines designed his Amara bag, inspired by a critically endangered species of water buffalo named Tamaraw.
