Industry figure Lisa Howlett passes away

Former tanner and International Council of Tanners (ICT) President Lisa Howlett has passed away unexpectedly. By ILM.

She ran the family-owned Auburn Leather, which made leather laces, until 2018 when it was acquired by ISA TanTec, before retiring in 2021.

She was also President of Leather Industries America (LIA), which became part of what is now the Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA).

A spokesperson for the ICT noted: “The ICT expresses its sorrow at the passing of Lisa Howlett. Lisa was president of the ICT from 2018-20 and will be fondly remembered by her friends and colleagues in ICT.”
