Image shows Michael Jordan taking delivery of the new car from Automobili Pininfarina chief executive, Paolo Dellachà.
A special car that is the result of a shared journey between Michael Jordan and Italian automotive company Automobili Pininfarina has Olivenleder in the interior. By Leatherbiz.
Olivenleder has confirmed that the seats of the car, a bespoke Battista, are covered with leather tanned using its technology, which is based on residues from the olive oil industry.
Director of sales and marketing at Olivenleder, Thomas Lamparter, said his first thought on seeing images of the handover of the vehicle was that the basketball star, one of his all-time heroes, would now experience the benefits of the company’s vegetable-based, pre-tanning agent.
He asked his contacts at Automobili Pininfarina to confirm his immediate impressions and received an affirmative response. He added that the brand has been working with Olivenleder for years.
“As someone who grew up idolising Michael Jordan, it is incredible to see Olivenleder feature in his new car,” said Mr Lamparter. “He may not quite know what he is sitting on, but it’s enough that I know.”
Automobili Pininfarina described the car as “a one-off masterpiece, crafted in Italy with passion, for a dear friend”.
