Theme announced for Preview do Couro exhibition

The theme for the upcoming Preview do Couro exhibition (Leather Preview), held during the Inspiramais trade fair in Brazil, is “Burnout”. By ILM.

The event will take place from July 23-24, 2024, at the Faccat Events Centre in Taquara, before the main show takes place from July 30-31 at Casa Petra.

Project coordinator and designer Marnei Carminatti said: “The collection embraces the sophistication of black and faux blacks, symbolising depth and mystery with a dark and dramatic air. This is an invitation to delve into the shadows of difficulties, revealing the beauty that arises from moments of adversity and celebrating the hidden strength within each of us.

“Complementing this foundation, red, yellow, blue, and purple illuminate the collection, bringing bold and invigorating contrast to the upcoming season. The research themes – Fetish/Sci-Fi and Elegance/Chicness – are expressed through the developed products. Fetish appears in intriguing textures and sensual finishes, while Sci-Fi infuses a futuristic and inorganic touch. Elegance and Chicness are captured in clean lines and sophisticated design, offering a luxurious response to the emotional weariness of the Burnout theme.”

The participating tanneries are: Brasleather, Couroquímica, Curtume Mats, Curtume Toinzinho, Faf Couros, FD Home Décor, Fuga Couros, Romeu Couros, J. Mesquita Couros, Nova Kaeru, OCM Best Brasil, Santa Croce, Tre Anytry, Treat Couros and Zitty Couros.

The event is organised by the Brazilian Leather and Brazilian Materials projects, in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
