Francis Tsang, Co-Founder of the ChromeFree Leather Alliance, writes on LinkedIn that sustaining yak herding and making it more commercially attractive ensures the continuation of an important ecosystem. Partnering with Seidel Tanning Corp. and MARYAM SRL, we aim to ethically purchase and save as many raw Yak hides as possible from each herder family without a landfill. This helps Tibetan herders and farmers stay on the land and maintain a traditional, carbon-absorbing way of life.
Naturally, it provides the Chinese market with locally responsibly produced Yak leather.
