One 4 Leather writes on LinkedIn that the recent narrative that leather, due to its high carbon footprint, is detrimental to the environment is about to be debunked. The Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) has taken a significant step by commissioning an independent study to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This study, set to be published in April, will reveal that the figures presented in the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (MSI) overstate leather’s climate impact by a staggering 8,000 times.
Choosing to use genuine leather, a by-product of the meat and dairy industry, for car interiors is not just a trend but a responsible choice. This upcycled material proves to be the most sustainable option. It’s encouraging to see that more and more individuals are recognising this fact.
We bring leather, material and fashion businesses together: an opportunity to meet and greet face to face. We bring them from all parts of the world so that they can find fresh partners, discover new customers or suppliers and keep ahead of industry developments.
We organise a number of trade exhibitions which focus on fashion and lifestyle: sectors that are constantly in flux, so visitors and exhibitors alike need to be constantly aware both of the changes around them and those forecast for coming seasons.
