A link between Paris, the historic capital of creation, and a territory in full effervescence, the19M embodies the excellence of the Métiers d’Art and Chanel’s pioneering commitment to the preservation and the development of historical fashion know-how. On a surface of 25,500 m², this set without equivalent in the world designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti brings together in one place eleven houses of art residents, six hundred craftsmen and experts working for Chanel and other big names in luxury.
It is the same commitment of the House that is at the origin of the collection of Chanel’s Métiers dark, created to pay tribute to the virtuosity of these craftsmen. Every year since 2002, this ready-to-wear collection, unique in the world of fashion, highlights the richness and diversity of Métiers d’Art. A creative dialogue with embroiderers, plumassiers, paruriers, plasterers, bootmakers, hat makers or glove makers who contribute to making each creation an exceptional piece.
By choosing the 19M as the setting for the Métiers d’Art 2021/22 show, Chanel reaffirms its desire to celebrate this exceptional artisanal heritage, the cornerstone of the influence of French fashion and luxury around the world.
